For Black History Month it would be wrong not to steer you towards an author who deals with Black History. The most formidable in this field would be the great African thinker, Dr. Cheikh Anta Diop.

Born in Senegal, West Africa, Dr. Diop was all that – historian, anthropologist, physicist and author. His long list of works can be found in both French and English. If you want to see a well-researched, defendable discourse on African civilization, African culture and African identity you should check this historian’s many works. Some of his research has been controversial, but when discussing human origins the temperature suddenly rises!

The African Origin of Civilization: Myth or Reality (now in its 30th printing) is a good place to start.
