Another Good Reason For Hiring a Copyeditor

A common complaint about editors is that they cost too much money. Many writers use this as an excuse to skip hiring one altogether. Most of those writers who skip editing are self-published authors.

This is a mistake.

Copyeditors are worth more than their weight in gold. Copyeditors are the ones who make sure that your writing makes sense, and that you say what you intended to say. They work on behalf of the reader.

If something doesn’t make sense or is poorly written, it reflects on you. If you publish without the help of an editor, you run the risk of being seen as a poor writer. It also works against your credibility, not only as a writer, but as an authority on the matter you are writing about.

It doesn’t do much for you or your image if people dismiss your writing. Your writing can suffer greatly if it lacks clarity, has poor spelling, ignores reckless punctuation or sports an inconsistent voice. Do yourself a favor and hire a copyeditor.

Are you working with a copyeditor on your work? Do you find it challenging allow others to assist you with getting your message across?
