Indie Publishing Standards Matter More than You’d Think

What does indie publishing look like? Well, we’ve talked over the years about what it should look like. It shouldn’t look like duplicate book covers, poor typsetting, or unedited manuscripts done in Microsoft Word. What it should look like is a professionally-published book that you can be proud of. It should look like it came from a big press, but with your personal touch on it.

Here at August Rose Press, we stand by the indie publishing checklist that IBPA produced earlier this year. You can take a look at that checklist here. While we’re not paid to talk about IBPA as much as we do, we do love how hard they fight for indie publishers and self-publishers everywhere. That’s something work talking (and posting) about.
